Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps in South America Q1 2024

In the first quarter of 2024, the top 5 navigation and maps applications in South America showcased varying trends in downloads, active users, and revenue. Data sourced from Sensor Tower reveals the performance metrics of these apps on a unified platform.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic saw a notable decline in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 426K in early January and dropping to around 320K by the end of March. Active users fluctuated slightly but remained robust, ranging from around 9.9M to 9.5M throughout the quarter.

Google Maps experienced a decrease in weekly downloads from 324K in the first week of January to 222K in the last week of March. Active users also showed a downward trend, starting at nearly 12M and settling at approximately 11.6M by the quarter’s end.

Google Earth had a more stable performance in terms of downloads, with figures fluctuating between 71K and 93K. Active users saw minor variations, ranging from 669K to 643K across the quarter.

Offline Maps, GPS, Speedometer maintained a consistent download rate, averaging around 45K weekly downloads. Active users increased steadily from 35K in early January to 48K by the end of March.

Radarbot Speed Camera Detector showed a decline in both downloads and active users. Weekly downloads fell from 66K in the first week of January to 37K by the end of March. Active users also decreased, starting at 116K and ending at about 91K. However, weekly revenue remained relatively stable, peaking at around $29K in early January and tapering to approximately $22K by late March.
